Helio Collective was brought on to The Art of Flight to produce the title sequences and titles packages.
Directed, edited, and art directed by Chris Murphy.
Tracking, roto, animation done by Zach Johaneson and myself.
Completely responsible for the beginning space sequence, and main title shot.
Helio Collective was awarded the Epic Story series from NetApp, and world wide leader in IT. While maintaining their established brand identity, we wanted to bring them more updated content for the visual language. This meant finding ways to make 2d hand drawings work in harmony with live action footage, 3d tracking, or a 3d scene built in Cinema 4d.
Commercial made for the release of the Parameter, part of Vans' LXVI collection. We shot live action elements of the original Sk8Hi falling apart by cutting it up and pulling it apart with fishing line, doing multiple passes with a motion control rig.
Directed by Chris Murphy, edited by Sam Hedlund, and shot by Logan Triplett
Responsible for vfx supervision, tracking, simulations, modeling, compositing (I guess you could say all post production but editing and color).
Nike released their new Max Transitions lenses, and to go with them they wanted three videos demonstrating how each one affects your vision. Kinda cool how specific each lens can get.
Responsible for tracking, roto, animation.
A concept piece for Salesforce. Their vision was to develop a network where people and government can interact easily and quickly.
Since the graphics were a central part to the piece, and designed assets were changing constantly, it was necessary to build an adaptable after effects rig for all the pieces that would allow easy iterations for the animation, staying as procedural as possible for as long as possible.
Piece for the release of Elijah Berle's Pro Classics shoes. Footage is reused from a trip with the Pretty Sweet crew.
End shoes were shot with the Phantom Miro, keyed, object tracked, and fire and smoke simulations done with Turbulence FD.
Short film about the choices made by a father and professional hunter.
Responsible for intro titles execution.
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Einstein's publishing of his most famous work, I worked with Montana State University and The National Science Foundation to create pieces for a multimedia film for the end of the week-long event.
I can't show the entire piece, but here are a few of the space shots I created through a conjunction of NASA imagery, fish tank textures, and hand made pieces.
A piece for Weaver Optics new scope. The director wanted to use a single shot, in fluid movement, so it was decided to go fully cg. For the man we brought in a hunter friend and photographed him on a turntable, then used Photoscan to build a 3d textured model. At the time we couldn't find that any one was using this technique for people, so we had lots of problem solving and guessing to do.
Looping backgrounds for the 2013 MSU School of Film and Photography Tracy Awards (the school's equivalent of the Oscars). Pieces played behind each keynote speaker for the respective categories.
note: I did not model the pieces.
Bumper created for Outdoor Research to use with their online content.
